Description of the audiobook The Chronicles of America Volume 10 - Conquest of New France:
The British colonies occupying most of the Atlantic coast increased in number and power. New France also grew more assertive. The ongoing animosity between the rivals never faltered.
There is little open war as long as the two crowns are at peace. From 1660 to 1688, the Stuart rulers of England obeyed their cousin, the King of Bourbon of France, and aligned themselves religiously with him. But after the fall of the Stuarts, France denounced William, the new king of Orange, as a heretic and a usurper and attacked the English in America with a savage rage that had never been seen in Europe.
From 1690 to 1760, combatants paused only to regroup until the conflict ended when France ceded its imperial claim to the Americas to Britain. The following pages tell the story of this struggle that spanned 70 years. - Summary of the introduction
