The King James Version is the English translation of the Christian Bible, begun in 1604 and first published by the Church of England in 1611. Like most other period translations, the New Testament was translated from Greek texts in the Textus Receptus (Receptus) series.
The Old Testament is translated from the Masoretic Hebrew text, and the Apocrypha [not included in this recording] is translated from the Greek Septuagint (LXX). (From Wikipedia, slightly modified)
