Description of the audiobook The Wonderful Adventures of Phra the Phoenician:

Phra was a Phoenician merchant and warrior who settled in the South of England as the husband of the British Princess Broadwyn. He was killed in a Roman invasion but woke up hundreds of years later to find Brodwin carefully tattooing his family and village history onto his body. And ed a role in the Departure of Rome, the Norman Conquest, and the Hundred Years' War.

On the other hand, Blodwen Phra occasionally appears in ethereal form in the likeness of many beauty lovers. Expect adventure, combat, romance, mystery, commentary on the futility of war, and some bad science in the form of runaway steam-powered robots for those who make it to the end. It was published as a series in News and later as a book in the US and UK.

After years of obscurity, Pla's Wonderful Adventures was reissued in the 1970s as Volume 11 of Newcastle's Forgotten Fantasy Library. (Phil Benson)
